About Mijas
Mijas town is located at 425 meters above sea level and is one of Spain's many white hill towns. The city borders to Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Marbella and may at first glance seem like a strongly marked tourist town, but you walk around a bit, you will quickly find out that there are also many charming old landmarks. You can experience the crooked streets and colorful patios that have made Mijas famous. You can visit the museum Carromato the Max, which is decorated in a railway carriage. All the exhibits are the smallest in their field.
You can also see Mijas famous steep street Calle de San Sebastián, or visit the only square bullring in Spain. The arena was built in 1784 and is thereby Spain's second oldest bullring. The Old Town Hall is a museum and gives a good insight in Mijas history.
